University of Arizona disease challenge

EMS (Early Mortality Syndrome)

Tests conducted at the University of Arizona showed that shrimp fed MrFeed® were resistant to Early Mortality Syndrome

MrFeed® Pro50 in commercial scale pond tests yielded >80% survival. Unlike lab methods, pond tests include usage from beginning to end of life cycle.

WSSV (White Spot Syndrome Virus)

Further tests demonstrated that the kinetics of the pathological process of WSSV infection lagged in the shrimp fed MrFeed®

India

MrFeed® was compared against traditional feed across shrimp farms in several states of India

• Shrimp farms throughout India have been experiencing major losses due to disease
• Independent shrimp farmers have found that Shrimp fed MrFeed® grew at rates substantially higher than ponds fed a traditional feed across farms throughout India
• Use of MrFeed® improved survival by greater than 30% compared to traditional feeds

Independent testing by major Indian feed producer at independent shrimp ponds in Andhra Pradesh area

• MrFeed® Pro50 replaced 50% of fishmeal in finished feed formulations and represented approximately 15% of total finished feed weight
• Higher survivability may be possible with full replacement of fishmeal

Vietnam

EMS (Early Mortality Syndrome) Challenge

Disease challenge tests showed that shrimp survived during exposure to ultra high levels of EMS-causing Vibrio parahaemolyticus (10^5 CFU/mL) after only five days of acclimatization

EHP (Enterocytozoon Hepatopenaei) Challenge

Disease challenge tests showed that shrimp survived during exposure to very high levels of EHP. Conclusion is that diet including MrFeed® is able to prevent shrimp from the impact of EHP disease (associated with retarding growth in shrimp)

Pond Trials

Shrimp fed a MrFeed® diet matched the growth but exceeded the survivability of two ‘premium’ feeds that it was tested against.

Malaysia

Survivability

Shrimp fed with MrFeed® had more than double the survivability and significantly faster growth rates than shrimp fed with traditional feed

• Significant increase in average daily weight gain (ADG) experienced when ponds switched from control feed to MrFeed®
• MrFeed® led to survival of 85% vs. 40% for controls
• Ponds had EMS, white feces, protozoans and white spot
• Health recovered within 5 days
• Widespread disease and unstable pond conditions as a result of extreme heat and algal growth experienced in Malaysian ponds

Thailand

Enhanced Survival

MrFeed® Pro50 replaced 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the fishmeal in the finished diet. Survival was consistently higher for shrimp fed MrFeed® Pro50 diets and average weight gain outperformed shrimp fed the traditional feed by 6.9% to 11.1%

Superior Weight Gain

Weight gain (g/shrimp) of L. vannamei fed diets containing various levels of Menon MrFeed® exceeded that of shrimp fed a traditional diet over a 56 day trial

China

Survivability and growth of shrimp fed MrFeed® exceeded controls in China pond trials 

Shrimp fed with MrFeed® had more than double the survivability and significantly faster growth rates than shrimp fed with traditional feed.

Pond trials at shrimp farms in Hainan and Tianjin showed substantial increases in average daily weight gain of shrimp when fed diets containing MrFeed®, even in the presence of viral and bacterial disease conditions, across 42 day tests

Panama

Trials in Panama showed that shrimp fed a diet including MrFeed® achieved harvest yields of 2.5 times greater than ponds fed traditional feed.  This performance was driven by the ability to achieve higher pond density and accelerated growth
